The Rwandan Genocide caused many changes to take place in Rwanda. After RPF ended the genocide, the world realized what had happened. In a time span of only 100 days almost 1 million people were killed in Rwanda. The Hutus and Tutsis' relationship would never be the same. In the years to come, their relationship slowly got better. The next president of Rwanda was a previous RPF soilder named Paul Kagame. He has made many changes to the Rwandan government. Some of the changes he has made include adding more Hutus to the government system and creating a government with the sole purpose of protecting the people of Rwanda. Today Rwanda is a much more peaceful place than it was 20 years ago, and slowly, the country is becoming a place where all Hutus and Tutsis get along.
